Keyword search

The keyword search feature allows you or the user to define terms to look for in property listing descriptions. The system uses advanced fuzzy query matching to find relevant results even when the search terms don't exactly match the listing descriptions.

Search syntax​

Separate different concepts with commas to broaden your search. Find properties that have at least one of several desired amenities.

  • Example: pool, garage, garden
  • Result: Finds listings that contains any of these features

Natural language phrases​

Use complete phrases to find specific property characteristics. Great for identifying properties with specific desirable features

  • Example: updated kitchen, master suite, mountain view
  • Result: Matches listings mentioning kitchen updates, master bedrooms, OR mountain views

Flexible spelling and variations​

The fuzzy search automatically handles differences in spelling, capitalization, variations and punctuations.

  • Example: court order sale
  • Result: Returns listings mentioning any of the terms Court Order Sale, court-ordered sale, *COURT ORDERED SALE*

Sometimes you may want to include multiple variations of important terms, separated by commas.

  • Example: renovate, renovation
  • Result: Returns listings mentioning any of the terms renovate, renovated, renovation, renovations

Do not use AND/OR operators because comma separated values can handle AND/OR logic automatically.

  • Example: pool hot tub, gym playground
  • Result: Returns listings that either contains the keywords (pool AND hot tub), OR contains the keywords (gym AND playground)

Troubleshooting​

If you're getting too many results​

  • Use more specific phrases
  • Include more qualifying terms
  • Focus on unique features

If you're getting too few results​

  • Check for term variations (although fuzzy matching helps)
  • Use broader terms
  • Include more alternative descriptions

Common use cases​

First-time homebuyer:

starter home, move-in ready, updated kitchen, fenced yard

Luxury Properties:

gourmet kitchen, spa bathroom, smart home, panoramic views

Investment Properties:

rental property, tenant occupied, cash flow, multi-family

Waterfront Living:

waterfront, boat dock, beach access, lake view
